Photoshoot 4
I had explored the allotments in Hartlepool. The idea/concept behind this shoot was to capture elements of ruins and decay from around the allotments, by doing this it will ensure that relate to my overall topic of Ruins. I had taken this photoshoot early in the morning so I did not have much lighting to work with. I tried to relate this photoshoot to my artist research of Joanne Coyle.
My first image is a close up image of some leaves I feel because it was frosty that day of my shoot I feel this worked well with this image as it has created a white layer around the edges of the leaves. This image was taken at this angle, as I wanted to capture a close up macro images of the decayed leaves. There is a contrast between the autumn colours of the leaves and the frosted edges as it almost looks as thought the leaves are not real due to this. The main point of focus in this is image is the bright orange/red leaf in the centre if the image, this creates a radial composition. The engagement of the subject matter is close-up that similar to Joanne Coyle’s work.
My second image, is the allotments similar to my first image I feel the frosty weather worked well for this shoot as it has created a contrast between the dark decayed allotments and the lighter cloudy sky because the colours are opposites but work well together in this image. The main point of focus is the centre of the image; this creates a radial and a symmetrical composition. The engagement of the subject matter is distant, however this images is not similar to my artist research but I feel this image is still successful. To develop this photoshoot more I could have taken more macro images.
