Photoshoot 8

I had explored Richmond. The concept of this photoshoot was to capture the castles ruins and to experiment with taking some macro images around Richmond. My first image I had taken later on in the day along side river swale, when I had started to lose some light, this worked well with this image as the dark tree branches and the grey sky create a contrast with the moss covered sign and also has made the sign the main focus. The image has a radial composition as the viewer is drawn the centre of the image. I had taken the image at this angle to capture the whole of the sign with the moss on it and to capture the sign against the dark background.

My second image, i had taken this image through the archway leading to the Richmond castle gardens. I had taken the image at midday so there was a lot of light in this image so I had edited the curves on the image to darken the whole image as the light was peering through the doorway, which create a glare and made the doorway harder to see. By editing the curves on the image made he overall image easier to see. however with editing the curves on the page it had made the shadow inside the archway much darker but this has created a contrast with the lighter and darker moss on the bricks either side of the arch way. to develop this photoshoot further I could have experimented with taking more macro images and taking more images of the castle ruins.
